GPS attendance should answer one question. It should not answer all of them.
GPS attendance tracking answers a specific operational question: was this staff member at the right place at the right time? That question deserves a clean answer with a clean record. What GPS attendance does NOT need to do is track the staff member's location continuously through the day. Continuous tracking creates privacy concerns under UAE PDPL, creates battery drain on the worker's phone, and doesn't answer the operational question any better. Aiya captures GPS at check-in and check-out moments, not in between.
A geofence per site
Configure a radius around every site, post, branch, ward, or project. Check-ins inside count; outside are flagged.
Per-event GPS capture
Location is captured at the moments of check-in and check-out only. Not continuously. Staff see exactly what is recorded.
Offline-capable
Check-ins cache locally if connectivity drops on site and sync with GPS attached when back online.
Out-of-zone flagging
Check-ins outside the configured geofence are flagged for supervisor review. Manual override is recorded in the audit log.
Phone-based
Each staff member uses their own phone. No external GPS tag, no proprietary device, no recurring battery.
Anti-spoofing on location
Impossible-GPS-speed (e.g. two check-ins 50km apart 2 minutes apart) is flagged. Device-change signals are flagged.

From geofence to clean audit trail
Draw the geofence
Add the site to the map; set the radius (typically 50–500m depending on site size). Save.
Assign staff to the site
Configure which staff are expected at which site for which shift. Bulk-import supported.
Check-in records GPS
Staff member checks in at the site; GPS is captured at that moment and validated against the geofence.
Out-of-zone surfaces
If GPS lands outside the geofence, the supervisor sees a flag. Manual override + reason are recorded.
Audit trail kept for the legal period
Per-check-in GPS, time, and face match form the audit record. Retained for UAE Labour Law requirements.
Built around UAE compliance, not adapted to it
UAE PDPL location handling
GPS is captured at check-in and check-out moments only, not continuously. Staff can see exactly what is recorded and request access, correction, or deletion at any time.
No always-on tracking
Continuous location tracking is not enabled by default and is not recommended. Per-event capture answers the operational question without creating privacy concerns.

Multi-site data isolation
