Workforce Attendance Without Hardware · UAE

Workforce Attendance — Zero Hardware at the Gate

No fingerprint readers. No face kiosks. No card scanners. No shared devices to maintain, sanitise, or replace. Staff check in with face + GPS from the phone they already own. Same biometric proof, none of the operational overhead.

No hardware · Mobile-first · Offline-capable · UAE PDPL-aligned · Free up to 25 staff

The phone in everyone's pocket is the answer

For a decade the default UAE attendance answer was a fingerprint reader at the gate. They worked, mostly. They also queued at shift start, failed in humidity, demanded sanitising after every press, and recorded identity-of-finger rather than identity-of-person. A smartphone has a camera, a GPS sensor, an internet connection, and a unique device fingerprint — every piece a biometric attendance system needs. Aiya uses what's already there. No hardware install, no recurring replacement, no kiosk failure on the day you don't have time to fix it.

Each staff member uses their own phone

Works on any modern Android or iPhone. No need to issue company devices.

No fingerprint readers

Zero hardware at the gate. No installation, no power, no network for a reader, no replacement when it fails.

Face matching instead

Live selfie matched against the enrolled face on every check-in. Identity-of-person, not identity-of-finger.

GPS instead of a fixed reader

A geofence per site, post, or branch. The "where" is recorded per check-in instead of inferred from a single scanner location.

Offline-capable

Check-ins cache locally on the phone if connectivity drops and sync when back online.

Instant onboarding of new sites

New project site? Draw a geofence on the map and you're done. No reader to procure, install, network, and configure.

Lower five-year TCO

At 100 staff, eliminating fingerprint readers saves AED 30,000–80,000 in hardware alone over five years, plus install, network, maintenance, and replacements.

PDPL-compliant biometric handling

Explicit consent, encryption, configurable retention, processed in a UAE-aligned regional data centre.

Without the hardware overhead

01

Geofence each site

Draw a radius around each site on the map. 30 minutes per site. No reader procurement.

02

Onboard staff in bulk

Excel import. Photo enrolment for face matching, 60 seconds per staff member.

03

Daily check-in from the phone

Staff open the app at the site, take a live selfie, confirm. GPS + face match in seconds.

04

Live dashboard for supervisors

Who is on each site right now. Out-of-zone or low-confidence check-ins surface immediately.

05

New site? Add a geofence.

No reader to procure or install. Operational overhead does not scale with the number of sites.

Built around UAE compliance, not adapted to it

UAE PDPL biometric handling

Explicit consent on first use, encryption at rest and in transit, processed in a UAE-aligned regional data centre, configurable retention.

No shared touch surfaces

Each person uses their own phone — no queue at a shared device, no hygiene risk, no recurring sanitisation overhead in clinical settings.

Tamper-resistant audit trail

Each check-in records face-match confidence, GPS, device fingerprint, and server timestamp. Audit-ready evidence for working-hour records.

No third-party AI providers see biometric data

Face matching runs inside our own infrastructure. Staff photos are never sent to external AI vendors.

Frequently asked questions

What if a staff member doesn't have a smartphone?
In the UAE, smartphone penetration among the working population is now north of 95% (down to AED 200 used phones). For the small remainder, a supervisor-managed shared device with multi-account login is the usual workaround. The face match still verifies identity per check-in.
What about sites with no mobile signal?
Check-ins cache on the phone and sync when connectivity returns. Face matching runs server-side so even older, cheaper phones work fine.
Won't there be more abuse without a physical gate?
There's actually less. Face matching + GPS + device fingerprint is harder to fool than a fingerprint reader that accepts any finger pressed against it. Out-of-zone, device-change, and low-confidence events are flagged in real time.
How does this affect IT?
There is almost nothing for IT to maintain on the device side — no readers, no kiosks, no spare-parts inventory. Our server-side handles everything. Most CIOs we talk to consider the hardware reduction a benefit, not a risk.
Is there a free tier?
Yes — free up to 25 staff with the full feature set including face matching and GPS. Growth: AED 8/staff/month from staff 26+. Enterprise: custom (adds payroll + GPSSA + WPS file).
