Top Workforce Platforms in the UAE — an Honest Shortlist
There is no single best platform, only a best fit for how your workforce actually works. This is who the main options are built for, and the questions that decide between them.
Grouped by fit, not ranked · Written by a vendor, and it says so
We make one of these. Read accordingly.
Most shortlists are written by whoever is selling. This one is too — AiyaHR is on it. What we can usefully offer is the honest shape of the market: these products are built for genuinely different workforces, and the mismatch between what a buyer runs and what a platform was designed for causes more failed rollouts than any feature gap. So each entry below leads with who it is for, not with why we are better.
Bayzat — benefits-led, desk-based teams
Built around insurance and benefits administration alongside HR and payroll, and widely used by UAE office-based companies. The centre of gravity is the employee benefits experience rather than multi-site shift operations.
ZenHR — Arabic-first HR across MENA
Strong regional coverage with Arabic-first design and localisation across several MENA labour codes. A good fit where the priority is HR administration in Arabic across more than one country.
PalmHR — modern HR suite for growing companies
A broad HR platform aimed at growing regional businesses, covering the core employee lifecycle. Suits companies wanting one system of record for a largely office-based workforce.
AiyaHR — non-desk, multi-site, shift-based
Ours. Built for workforces that never sit at a desk: face-verified check-in without hardware, per-site geofencing, rotating and split shifts, and WPS-ready exports. Narrower than a full HR suite by design.
Global suites — Workday, BambooHR, Personio
Mature, deep, and built for the markets they grew up in. Worth shortlisting if you are a multinational standardising globally; UAE-specific needs such as WPS file formats and end-of-service gratuity usually arrive through configuration or partners.
The question that actually decides it
Where does your workforce spend the day? A benefits-led platform is the right answer for an office. It is the wrong answer for two hundred people across eleven sites on rotating shifts — and vice versa.
How to run the evaluation
Describe your hardest shift, not your average one
Split shifts, night cover, staff crossing sites mid-day. Any platform demos well against a nine-to-five; the awkward pattern is what separates them.
Ask what happens when verification is ambiguous
A borderline face match or an imprecise GPS fix is routine. Whether it is forced into a pass, a fail, or a human review queue tells you how the system will behave in the real world.
Ask for the payroll export, not a screenshot
Request a sample WPS-ready file and hand it to whoever actually runs payroll. Export quality is where attendance either saves time or creates it.
Price the five-year total, including exit
Licence, hardware, implementation, integration and the cost of getting your data out. Hardware-based systems front-load cost; subscription platforms back-load it.
Pilot one operational unit
One site or one contract, run properly for a month, tells you more than any number of demos.
What to verify with any vendor on this list
WPS-ready exports in your bank’s format
Ask to see a real file, not a claim. Formats differ between banks and a near-miss costs someone a manual rebuild every month.
UAE Labour Law working-hour handling
Daily limits, rest, overtime and break rules under Federal Decree-Law No. 33 of 2021 should be configurable per site, not assumed uniform.
End-of-service gratuity
Confirm how service history is calculated, particularly for staff who move between entities inside a group.
UAE PDPL handling of biometric data
Where templates are stored, what consent is captured, what retention applies, and what a staff member can see about themselves.
